Colourful, bright flowers bring a smile to everyone's face - no matter how gloomy the weather outside is. Instead of real flowers, we've opted for crepe paper flowers today. They don't wilt and are also suitable for allergy sufferers.the flowers look much more complicated than they are to make. In these instructions, we will show you how to make each of the paper flowers shown.
A little tip: flowers look very individual in nature, no two leaves are exactly alike. A little imagination is good for a bouquet like this

Orange paper flower

We made a small rose from the orange crêpe paper. To do this, we cut a 6 cm wide and 80 cm long strip from the crêpe paper.
Now take the top edge of the cut piece of crêpe paper and fold off a small piece.
This gives the paper rose a great look afterwards.
Next, cut a piece of winding wire twice the length of the flower stem and put it to one side, then roll up the orange crepe paper strip. The first 10cm are rolled particularly tightly, as the flower is slightly smaller in the centre. Small creases can and may appear with each twist. This makes the rose look much more realistic.
Once you have rolled up the entire strip of crêpe paper, take the cut winding wire and wrap it once around the lower part of the rose flower.
Then take the florist tape and wrap it tightly around the wired part of the paper flower.
Continue to wrap the florist tape around the flower stem all the way down. If you like, you can also cut out a few green leaves from crêpe paper and simply attach them with the florist tape.
Every paper flower is made like this rose. These steps are the same regardless of shape and size. The other paper flowers now follow.

Blue cornflower

This blue paper flower has a great effect and is super easy to make: you need two strips of crêpe paper: we cut out a purple one measuring 4 cm x 30 cm and a blue one measuring 5 cm x 50 cm.
Now fold both paper strips in half again and again and then use the scissors to cut out small triangles at the top edge. This creates the fringed look of the paper flowers.
Next, roll up the purple crepe paper. Again, make sure that it is not rolled up too tightly and neatly, but that there are small folds in it. wrap the rolled up purple crêpe paper with florist tape so that it does not unroll again and then wrap the blue paper around it. As with the paper rose, the wire is now attached to the lower part of the flower, followed by the florist tape.
And the paper cornflowers are ready.

Pink peonies

We also need two strips of crepe paper for the pink paper flowers. We cut a yellow strip 5 cm wide and 30 cm long and two pink strips measuring 7 cm x 40 cm. We folded the yellow strip and one of the pink strips - as we did with the cornflowers - and cut them in.
We folded the second pink crepe paper strip even closer together and cut the top end round.
Now roll up the yellow strip first, then wrap the cut pink strip around it. Then wrap the wire around the lower part of the paper flower. Finally, add the pink strip with the rounded top end and the florist tape. That's it!

Red summer flower

Now cut a 7 cm strip from the width of the red crêpe paper. Fold this in half 3 times and then cut out the blossom petals.
This way you will quickly have lots of individual flowers, which creates a great effect.
We also need a yellow strip of crêpe paper for the flower. Ours is 4 cm wide and was folded in half lengthways, then rolled up and wrapped with wire.
Now add the individual blossom petals layer by layer. We place them close together to create a large flower.
In between, you can fix the blossom petals in place with florist tape or glue.
Again, make sure that there are small creases so that the paper flower looks much more realistic.
Finally, you can wrap the wire with the florist tape again and carefully tweak the blossom petals a little.

Making a flower stem with leaves

If you like, you can attach leaves or other stems to the green flower stems. All you have to do is cut a few leaves out of green crêpe paper and attach them to the stem with wire.
Then wrap the wire with the florist tape.
The flowers not only look great in a vase on the windowsill or on the table, but also on a gift, on a wreath or as a napkin ring. We can't wait to see what you do with them!
We hope you like our paper flowers and wish you lots of fun making them.
