In these instructions, I will show you step by step how you can create fun cone gnomes with just a few materials. These simple craft projects are ideal for the whole family and are great fun, especially for the little ones.

Making the hats

To start with the hats, grab your cones. As each hat has to be individually adapted to the cone, you will not find a specific template in these instructions. Cut two halves for each cone from felt, and then join them together.

• With hot glue: Glue the edges of the cap halves together. Allow the glue to cool well before turning the hat inside out.
• With handicraft glue: Apply the glue along the edges and press the halves together. Turn inside out once dry.
• With the sewing machine: Sew the halves together, leaving a little space around the edge. Then turn the hat inside out.

All methods produce a similar result, so you are free to choose. Always work carefully so as not to damage the hat.

Attach the beard and nose
Once the hats are finished, let's move on to the beard. Cut out a piece of plush in the desired shape and size. If you like, you can weave braids into the beard. When cutting, make sure to stroke the plush so that only the back is cut.

Attach the beard to the cone with hot glue and then attach a wooden bead as a nose. Make sure that the nostrils point to the left and right or that the hair is glued over them so that the wooden bead looks clean.

Finishing the gnome
The final step is to attach the hat to the peg. Make sure you choose the right fit so that the hat sits well. To do this, apply hot glue to the cone in a circle and attach the hat. Use the warm phase of the glue to carefully align the cap.

If desired, attach a ribbon to the top of the hat to hang it up. Decorate the hat with felt sprinkles or cut-out leaves for an even more individual look.
