Instructions No. 3646
Difficulty: Beginner
Working time: 6 Hours
Step 1: Cut the squares
Start by cutting 6 to 8 squares of the same size from silk paper . Tip: The more layers you put on top of each other, the more voluminous and eye-catching your flowers will be in the end. Larger squares lead to more impressive flowers. Choose the colors of the tissue paper to match your decoration concept to create a harmonious look for your wreath.
Step 2: Fold the flowers
Place the cut squares on top of each other and fold them into an accordion shape. Make sure that the folds are even to achieve a perfect result. Tie the center of the folded squares together tightly with a piece of warp yarn to create the base for your flower.
Step 3: Shape the flowers
Now cut out both ends of the folded tissue paper flower in a semicircle. This will give your flowers a soft, natural look. Then carefully pull each individual layer towards the center to shape the petals and create volume. Repeat this step on both sides. You can simply trim the excess warp yarn .
Step 4: Attach the flowers to the wreath
Now it's time to attach the finished flowers to your wreath. Use hot glue to fix the flowers securely and permanently in place.
Step 5: Paint the butterfly
For an extra decorative accent, paint a butterfly with your favorite craft paints. You can mix the colors as you like to create interesting shades. Let the paint dry well before continuing.
Step 6: Add the glitter effect
Now it's time to sparkle! Outline the wing cut-outs of the butterfly with a glitter pen for a classy sparkle. If you want to achieve a particularly fine glitter effect, put some glitter on a palette and apply it with a small brush. Allow everything to dry thoroughly before continuing.
Step 7: Attach the butterfly
When the butterfly is completely dry, attach it securely to your wreath using hot glue.
Step 8: Finish the wreath
Last but not least, attach a long ribbon to your wreath. This ribbon not only serves as a pretty finishing touch, but also allows you to easily hang the wreath wherever you like.
Now that you've finished your own creation wreath with silk paper-flowers, it's sure to be the talk of the town. Your unique wreath will not only add color to your home, but can also serve as an inspirational gift.
