Creative work with painting stencils

To apply paint as perfectly as possible directly onto a painting surface using a stencil , we recommend using a dry dabbing brush or sponge and dabbing the paint on sparingly and carefully. It is also helpful to choose a paint that is not too thin. The paint used in our examples VBS Paint is ideal for the stenciling.
However, stencil motifs can also be painted with a brush.

Stencil motifs can be easily painted on with structure paste and a plastic spatula. structure paste is a thick, creamy mass that forms a tactile surface when dry.

stenciling on wood or papier-mâché

Wood is a particularly popular surface for handicrafts with painting stencils. Place the stencil on the wooden surface and trace the motif or circle thinly with a pencil.

Stencil with paint: Wooden panel / decorative sign
Paint the circle with white Chalky-Paint. Chalky-Paints are matt chalk paints that are easy to work with. Allow the paint to dry completely. Now spray the back of the stencil with spray adhesive. This adhesive will help the stencil to adhere better to the perfect Position adhere better.
Place the stencil precisely on the circle and paint the motif in different colors Chalky-Colors.
Remove the stencil, while the paint is still wet and clean it under running water.

Plug in the device and allow it to heat up for about 5 minutes. Then carefully trace the pre-drawn pencil lines with the hot branding iron and burn the motifs into the wood.

Spray the back of the stencil with spray adhesive and place it in the middle of the lid of the round box. Press it down firmly.
Coat the stencil evenly with structure paste. using a plastic spatula. Remove the stencil from the lid while the structure paste is still wet and clean it.

stenciling at acrylic: acrylic disc

Acrylic surfaces are ideal for modern craft ideas with color and light. They are also suitable for designing with a painting stencil.
Spray the back of the painting stencil with spray adhesive and place it on the acrylic disc. Press it down firmly.
Paint the motif with craft paints and remove the stencil, while the paint is still wet. Then clean it thoroughly.
Drill a small hole in the acrylic disc. using a hand drill. Thread rocailles (small glass beads) and the suncatcher onto a Perlon thread and tie it to the disk.
You can glue individual beads onto the leaves or the motif with handicraft glue as desired.

You can also stencil with glass and porcelain paint, but it is particularly important to work precisely as this is a slightly thinner paint.
Apply spray adhesive evenly to the back of the painting stencil. This will prevent it from slipping when painting. Place the stencil on the clean, grease-free tile and press it down carefully.
Paint the motif, for example a tree, with the KREUL Glass & Porcelain Chalky-Set. These paints are specially developed for smooth surfaces such as glass or ceramic.
Carefully remove the stencil while the paint is still wet and clean it directly with clear water. Leave the tile to dry for 4 hours.
Place the tile in a cold oven to bake. Heat this up to 160 °C. The baking time of 90 minutes only begins once the temperature has been reached. Then switch off the oven and leave the tile to cool completely. It is now permanently durable and ready for use.
