The Process of Marbling

Step 1: Fill the Container with Water
First, fill an old container large enough with water so the heart can be completely submerged. This container will serve as the color dip, so it should be at least 15 cm in diameter and 15 cm high.

Step 2: Add Marbling Paint to the Water
Insert the wooden skewer into the styrofoam heart. Now add about ten drops of one color directly to the water. These drops form a closed film of paint on the water surface. Repeat this process with other colors by adding a few drops in the center of the exciting pattern.

With an unused wooden skewer, draw your personal marbling pattern into the paint layer. Whether you create graceful swirls or exciting spirals, let your imagination run wild.

Step 4: Marble the Heart

Now, slowly dip the heart on the wooden skewer into the color dip. The film of paint wraps around the heart. Then, quickly pull it back out to avoid overlapping of the colors. You can lightly blow away the film of paint to preserve the colors.

Step 5: Remove Old Paint Film

Let the heart dry. Before marbling other hearts, remove the old paint film from the water surface with a piece of paper. This makes room for new color patterns. "Easy marble" paints are dust-dry after about 15 minutes and even water-resistant after complete drying.
